Your handy guide to recycling weird stuff

I have a pile of things I really can't bear to throw out but I have no idea how to recycle. Of course, it's all in piles in the garage. Far from ideal. I ran across this guide to recycling strange things today, and found some solutions to my growing mess. It has suggestions on everything from cardboard boxes to styrofoam packing peanuts.

That list is a great find. Another good way to get rid of odd stuff that's still usable is freecycle.org. There are local branches all over the country. I've gotten rid of old computer speakers, a Weber BBQ and a host of other odds and ends. And got a futon for my office, and two sheets of 5/8" drywall, all free.
